To both of your points, it'd certainly be nice to have his energy (if he's good enough to use that energy intelligently in the NHL of course). Who knows -- maybe overhauling the locker room is as easy as adding some youthful exuberance to the bottom six in the form of Oglevie and Malone types (again, provided they're good enough for the NHL).
Pushing people out who aren't viable players is certainly a way forward. Getting contributions from the bottom 6 - even if it is playing "even" and being able to transition play up the ice, or get some zone time through quality forechecking would help. To think that they might be able to chip in a bit more would also be a novel outcome.
I think a lot of the guys like Ogie (had to since its in the article), Asplund, Pilut, Guhle, etc will be in the NHL lineup this year. I just don't know when. Haseoke had a good line about this being a year where the roster looks a lot different in March than it did in October
Seven goals, 3 assists and ten points in the last 7 games, including his first pro hattrick tonight. Looking for a tenacious winger... might be time for a look.

Frustrations with the big club aside, I will say it is nice that under Botterill and Sexton development finally seems to actually be happening in Rochester. Oglevie and Murray are making a case for themselves as legit prospects and I don't even know if they made our most recent top 20 list
Whenever I saw him play I thought he looked the part of a 4th liner.
Now that he is starting to get a chance down in Rochester and has developed his offensive game, I think it is close to time he gets a look.
Great to see the "depth" Rochester guys stepping up and winning them games with such a depleted forrward group.
He's fast and fearlessHow is his speed?
“He’s got the hockey sense, he’s got the skills, to play in the NHL,” Amerks General Manager Randy Sexton said.
“I really believe the results that we’re seeing are as a result of that commitment to be in Buffalo,” Sexton said.
Sexton said the Sabres identified three areas – speed, strength and quickness – for Oglevie to focus on during the summer.
“We could see the progress at the development camp (in June), we saw the progress at the rookie tournament, and we’ve seen the progress here during the regular season,” Sexton said. “He’s … not a real big body, so he’s got to be real strong.”
Sean Malone who has had to deal with concussion issues of his own also comments.Oglevie said he essentially experienced “one big (concussion) that just kept reoccurring.”
“A lot of it was neck-related, not so much concussion,” he said. “I went to go see a specialist late in the season last year and he helped me fix a lot of things with my neck, which in turn helped my headaches and whatnot.
He's earned an extended look. Not to mention this dressing 7D nonsense has rendered our 4th line useless.By all means, let's get a look at him here in Buffalo.
I mean if we wait much longer it will be an alumni game he appears in.........
