Sabres ready to rock and roll, show NHL they are for real during this six game season
In case you haven’t heard, the Buffalo Sabres’ six-game season is set to begin tonight versus Toronto. The players and coaching staff want the world to know that Buffalo Sabres hockey is here for real.
“Preseason down, six to go,†screamed an elated Mike Weber after the team defeated Arizona Monday night in their final tuneup before the short season begins.
“(Head Coach Ted Nolan) has told us consistently over the last 20 weeks as we prepared for this, that life is a circle. We represent that circle in a metaphorical sense, yes, but also in a literal sense. People in Buffalo – and frankly, fans across the nation and in Canada – deserve this, and we are ready for it.â€
To the casual observer, however, some issues with the ‘preseason’ may linger – and turning this ‘six-game season’ into a remake of a playoff series is an abysmal idea.
To that notion, the players say “piss off.â€
“Great to be in Buffalos, we just want to have to win and play my game,†described Nikita Zadorov. “Fans donâ€t play. I set three alarms now.â€
