We don’t have anywhere for him to play. Doesn’t make sense to put him on the third pair with his salary and with Soucy playing so well.

Would think the only deals that would make sense from a Wild standpoint would be if he was the cap coming back in a Zuccarello deal or if the Sabres thought they could get more value out of Rask than we are. Neither of those are likely.

No sabres would do this to clear cap, no way they take Byron with 4 more years at his cap hit.

If Buffalo trades Scandella in the near future, prior to the TDL, it will be for a 2nd or 3rd rd pick because Pilut is deemed ready to move up from Rochester. Buffalo will not want a player in return unless they can fill a FW hole, but I doubt Scandella can return that type of player. Ristolainen or maybe Montour will be saved for that bigger type of trade. So really there's no need to speculate too hard what Buffalo might get for Scandella, it will just be a draft pick.

A 2nd or 3rd round pick would probably be enough for Scandella. Sabres are going to have to move a defenseman soon and Scandella seems to be the logical choice.

Wouldn't hate if the Sens were in on this (depending on price). Could send Brannstrom down for some extra development and maybe the team can pump and dump Scandella getting the same (or a bit more) back at the deadline.
