Bylsma mentioned that he doesn't envision Kane and Eichel on the same line because they both like to carry the puck a lot.

I think ROR and Kane together on the top line is a lock, and I also think Eichel centering the second line and shielded by at least one of the more veteran players (Moulson or Ennis) is also a lock.

The only question is who is the other top line winger. It could be Girgensons, Moulson, Ennis, or Reinhart. Personally I'd love to see Reinhart get a shot playing on the wing playing top-line minutes, while Girgensons can center a 3rd line / checking line that can be a great shutdown line and also provide good depth scoring.

I get that thinking, but it was true as well of both Landeskog and MacKinnon on the Landy-ROR-MacK line that was amazing for us. I’m skeptical if Kane can thrive with top linemates, but if anyone can make it work with him it’s ROR; and if ROR-Kane click like ROR-Landy did, Eichel should thrive as the 3rd guy on that line.

I'd like to see O'Reilly with Ennis on his wing to start the year. If McGinn is 100%, I could see him on the second line with Eichel and Kane.

Matt Moulson - Ryan O'Reilly - Tyler Ennis
Evander Kane - Jack Eichel - Jamie McGinn
Marcus Foligno - Zemgus Girgensons - Samson Reinhart
Nicolas Deslauriers - David Legwand/Johan Larsson - Brian Gionta

Everyone putting Kane on the first line are going to be SEVERELY disappointed

I don't think it's a stretch to put him on the depth chart ahead of Matt Moulson and Foligno... And if you factor in that he likely doesn't play with Eichel, the first line makes a lot of sense for Buffalo.

ROR is first line centre.

Probably with Kane and ? Maybe Ennis

Question is how/where do they wanna put Eichel Rinehart and Girgensons.

Do they put Eichel 2c and Reinhart 3c

Like a 1 then 2a 2b Line.

Like 20 15 15 10

Because that isn't a bad way to put the kids in.

Kane - ROR - Ennis (ROR and Ennis had great chemistry at the worlds)
Moulson - Eichel - Girgensons
Foligno - Larsson - Gionta
Deslauriers - McCormick - McGinn

Reinhart starts in the AHL. When he gets called up, McCormick gets bumped, and roster shuffles a bit.

This exercise is kind of difficult, because we're trying to guess which centers get moved to wing, and who gets put on their off wing.

To start the season, IMO:

Ennis-ROR-Eichel
Kane-Girgensons-Reinhart
Moulson-Larsson-Gionta
Foligno-Legwand-McGinn
X: Deslauriers

Colaiacovo-Bogosian
Weber-Ristolainen
Donovan-Pysyk
X: Ruhwedel

At the end of the season, barring trades:

Ennis-Eichel-ROR
Kane-Reinhart-Girgensons
Moulson-Larsson-Gionta
Foligno-Legwand-McGinn
X: Deslauriers

Gorges-Bogosian
Weber-Ristolainen
Colaiacovo-Pysyk
X: Donovan

Why on earth would we want to put Eichel on the first line? The whole point of bringing O'Reilly in here is so we can give Eichel some sheltered minutes.

I think there's going to trade our forward depth for a LD.
