10. Buffalo is like Montreal. The Sabres do not want to use their best assets on rentals. I could see them looking at someone like Carl Hagelin. He’d be a good fit.

Yeah this is speculation, nothing more nothing less.
Actually quite often it is him just spit balling...trying to find fits for players on other teams. No, this is how Friedman writes his columns. He did not just link that player and team out of thin air.

This kind of stuff is purely speculation and shouldn’t automatically get its own thread.
Sabres counter with just the used visor, no helmet. To Buffalo: Hagelin
To LA: A helmet with a visor that's on straight + a 6th round pick.
Done and we will even throw in sobotkaTo Buffalo: Hagelin

This. Can play the 3rd wheel on a 2nd or 3rd line, but really what you are getting is a fast forechecker/backchecker who PKs. Would take him back on the Pens 4th line next year for a 4th line comparable contract if no one else goes for him. We needed more offensive ability at the #2LW though, and Pearson provides that at least at times.Great PK, great fore/back check, you are not getting anything else. A few years ago you would’ve had more. Right now you are simply adding a goal line to goal line special teams expert. But no PP, only PK.
