My coworker claims that the issue is that Pegula has an internal cap but I haven't been able to Google any recent correlation to that. It's all stuff from 2020. Is that still a possibility? Because who would want to work for a team that their boss doesn't allow to use all the resources available by the league rules?
If he were this worried about money do you think he'd be okay with paying a coach 4 million over the next two years to not coach here?

Doesn't shock me.

He has taken every team he coached for into the playoffs. He also brings with him veteran assistants.

His biggest issue has been goaltending. When he has average to above average goaltending, his teams have consistently been in the playoffs. UPL and Levi look to be good young tenders for him to work with.

Add to that his name power in Buffalo, and they may actually be able to fill the building and bring some life into the team.

This guy has missed the playoffs 7 times during his last 10 seasons as an NHL head coach.

The NHL is a wonky place and loves it's retreads.
