SABRES ANNOUNCE 2019-20 REGULAR-SEASON SCHEDULE

BUFFALO, N.Y. (June 25, 2019) — The Buffalo Sabres and the NHL today announced the 2019-20 regular-season schedule for the team’s 50th season. Ticket pricing information for individual home games will be released at a later date.

The Sabres open their season on the road on Thursday, Oct. 3 against the Pittsburgh Penguins before returning to KeyBank Center for the home opener on Saturday, Oct. 5 against the New Jersey Devils.

The team will have five days off in the second week of November as they embark on a trip to Stockholm, Sweden for a back-to-back series against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Nov. 8 and 9 for the 2019 NHL Global Series. The games will both be played during the afternoon in the Eastern time zone.

The longest home stand of the season will take place from Jan. 28 to Feb. 6, when the Sabres will play five consecutive home games. The team will play eight afternoon games at KeyBank Center this season, including four of their nine Saturday home games:
  • Monday, Oct. 14 vs. Dallas, 3 p.m. (Columbus Day)
  • Saturday, Dec. 21 vs. Los Angeles, 1 p.m.
  • Saturday, Jan. 11 vs. Vancouver, 1 p.m.
  • Saturday, Feb. 1 vs. Columbus, 1 p.m.
  • Sunday, Feb. 9 vs. Anaheim, 3 p.m.
  • Sunday, Feb. 23 vs. Winnipeg, 3 p.m.
  • Saturday, March 21 vs. Chicago, 2 p.m.
  • Sunday, March 22 vs. NY Rangers, 3 p.m.
The Sabres will play 14 back-to-back sets and get a nine-day layoff in January, when the team’s bye week runs into the NHL All-Star Break. Buffalo will conclude the season with 14 of its last 16 games against Eastern Conference opponents.

Plans to celebrate the team’s 50th season have already begun to be announced. In the months leading up to the beginning of the season, Sabres.com/50 and Sabres social media will have more information as plans continue to be unveiled.

A whopping 4 Sabres/Bills doubleheaders this year:

11/24: Broncos @ Bills, Sabres @ Panthers
12/8: Ravens @ Bills, Sabres @ Oilers
12/29: Jets @ Bills, Sabres @ Bruins

EDIT: And a possible fifth, depending on if the Bills game is Saturday or Sunday:

12/21: Bills @ Patriots, Kings @ Sabres

Also, the Sabres have 4 home and home sets (5 if you count the 2 games against Tampa in Stockholm):

10/19 @ SJS, 10/22 vs. SJS
11/29 vs. TOR, 11/30 @ TOR
12/27 vs. BOS, 12/29 @ BOS

I had totally forgotten about the Sabres playing games in Sweden this year before looking at the schedule just now.

Also, the Sabres are playing a game on my birthday in my area (April 2 @ NJ). Maybe I'll go and they can win one for me as a gift.

We only get the Sabres in Carolina once or twice a year, and it seems like every year they do it on St. Patrick's Day, or around it. That's the one time of year I get the hell out of NC and back to Buffalo for St. Pat's because it's the WORST in the Carolinas.

So, of course, another year, another St. Patrick's Day game in Raleigh. :(

Waiting to see when we are in Nashville it’s not on their site yet

Nvm it’s 1/18
texted my brother about that---he lives in nashville and is a season ticket holder. but he will go and switch tickets. They get 2 per game but ehre are 3 in the famuly (nephew is 15) and older one at college. during college breaks they will exchange tickets for a few games of 4 tickets or 3 tickets.

that is also a holiday weekend--MLK day is monday

it looks like only 2 HNIC broadcasts...both in November

Home and home with san jose is weird

an oddity of the past few years i am not seeing in this years---they would play the same team within about 3-9 days of each other but they werent home and homes.

this yea they have home and homes at least from a sabres perspective

they seem to be playing more multiple game road trips (ignoring the 3 western swings)

there longest homestand is almost 10 games. two -5 games eith one in the middle

Ah, so I can conceivably see them play live once, in March. Better save up some off days

Fun opening of the season for me:

10/5: Caps-Isles at the Coliseum.
Haul ass to the PA Bus Terminal to get red eye to Buffalo.
10/6: Devils-Sabres at KBA.
Red Eye back to NY around 1pm.
10/7: Jets-Isles at the Brooklyn Hellhole.
10/8: Sleep all day.
10/9: McJesus-Isles back at the Hellhole.
Yeah, gonna have to sell the Habs ticket because I don't want to die.

^^RE: @26CornerBlitz tweet above - that's gonna be a brutal week for the Sabres. 5 games in 7 days. Back-to-back in Florida, fly home, day off, host Calgary, day off, back-to-back home & home vs. Leafs. An 0-5 week is quite possible.
