It's not the difficulty of the shot. It's the psychology of knowing that you've finally gotten one in that takes the mental pressure off a bit. Nothing stifles one's natural game like mental blocks (over-thinking things, or a lack of confidence, or "pressing" to make things happen are the big ones).
