But in all seriousness, hopefully Antipin has a successful recovery and doesn’t suffer from too much pain. Not only was he concussed, but add dental work, a broken nose and some stitches to the equation, and ouch; poor guy.

It's open season! Elbow drops and sitting on goalies is ok, so is ending players seasons and potentially careers. We're looking out for player safety, so no love taps on someones stick or gloves but who needs a functional brain?

Since it is a concussion diagnosis, he has to be free of symptoms for a week before being cleared to play... so that looks like it's a wrap for Antipin's season.

Came here for an update on Antipin and word whether a disciplinary hearing was scheduled for Hartnell. Totally amazed that nothing is going to happen!

We've seen before how selective the NHL is when it comes to applying discipline. A fair number of players have lost their careers and livelihoods because of illegal hits and actions with little in the way discipline or compensation being applied. The game is the way it is because that's the way selective influential owners want it to be.
