I can't imagine Rangers trading Stepan. They'd be much more likely to give up Miller, who won't be an impact player now. They're trying to win a cup.

Miller was rumored in the last offer made to Columbus at the trade deadline last year. The other rumor was Columbus was asking for Kreider, McDonagh or Stepan, and they were told no. Not sure if that's changed with Stepan this year, or if O'Reilly being a center might make him expendable.

This is all just a part of the plan for ROR and the Avs. They've agreed to a 5 year 18 Million deal already, but they're pretending to be in dispute to keep ROR out of the lineup so the Avs can suck and draft Jones.

Then the day it becomes official that the Avs pick 1st overall, ROR will sign his contract, and we'll pick Jones in the draft.

Meanwhile this supposed injury ROR has been nursing since he left the KHL is just a cover for the Avs training team perforimg gentic mutation on ROR to turn him into the 2nd coming of Gretzky.

Avs will proceed to win the next 15 Stanley cups.

EJ and Landy are currently out getting the same surgery. We can already see the results with Duchene, who got his treatment last year and is now a monster.

Here's a proposal that would probably be torn apart but fun anyway... A signed ROR and SOB and a 2nd for a resigned Perry and hampus lindholm.

Ironically, six is Ryan O'Reilly's lucky number.

Six million dollars a year.

@Seph: There's a large difference between what fans propose and a logical deal. Fans typically give up on prospects early, based solely on NHL performance. Looking a Zbad, he's had a below par start to this year, hence the ship out requests. On top of this, our strength is down the middle. why on earth trade a center for a center? We need a top pairing D, and I am sure that's what Sherman's after.

Plus, this trade was proposed PRIOR to the karlsson injury, after which the general consensus is that the Sens will miss the playoffs. They went from sellers, to buyers. I'm still sure Murray wouldn't have pulled the trigger before the injury, but what's the motive to do it now?
May as well add emoticons, cause its the cool thing to do :dumbo:

O'Reilly + garbage for Corey Perry and a high end dman prospect? Come on man, at least add something to it from our side like top pairing dman Matt Hunwick.

Sherman is slacking, wish he acquired the guy named Zoltan like the Blues GM that is aggressively improving his team.

Tried the same with Downie, but its gonna take longer because they can only seem to get a Mark Messier out of him.

Between the O'Reilly trade and our pick we should be able to address the need for an EJ partner and find a more dynamic winger to play next to Landy and Staz to really solidify our talent base. With a real first pairing and legit 2nd pairing, Hejda-Barrie, and Elliott on the third pairing to stack the PP, we'd actually have a really talented defense for Sacco to waste.

Then upfront we'd have a really strong top 2 lines with McG-Dutchy-PAP and Landy-Staz-New Guy, and a pretty good third line with Jones and Downie flanking Sgar or Mitchell.

it depends, one of the two is more than likely to end up needing time in the minors. so if they get the top pairing partner for EJ then the winger likely sits in the minors, if we get the winger in the trade then the pairing partner probably sits.
