Who do you think Ryan Johansen will resemble the most once he settles in to being an NHL player, im leaning towards Toews because of his two way game... What do you think?

His play at the WJC reminded me of Getzlaf at the same age, although Getzlaf was/is a lot stronger physically and Johansen is probably a better skater.

David Legwand/Mike Fisher/Jason Arnott ...type player

IMO, I just don't see high end scoring potential in him.

    50- 60 point player.

Maybe it's just the size and jersey number, but he looks a bit like Travis Zajac out there.

Does he have a booming shot? Stoll's shot is a 20-gauge shotgun...used as a sniper rifle, but's it's pretty strong nonetheless.

There where a lot of comparisons around the draft to him and Getzlaf, as mentioned.

It seemed to me that he was kind of slow during the WJC, do you think it might affect it's potential?

Pass first big center who can protect the puck....not near Getzlaf in terms of overall talent.

I cant think of a real good comparison.....Jordan Staal maybe?

I dont see the highend offense, good #2 center.

So it goes everywhere but is accurate? And I have no idea how to gauge the power of his shot now, lol

Zajac is pretty good, but I think Johansen has better offensive upside. Corey Perry is another that has some resemblance to his game even though he's a winger.

Spezza with a little Bolland in him. Weird combo, I know. Skates, stickhandles and looks for passes exactly like Spezza but has a bit more sandpaper and willing to mix it up like Bolland. (See hit on Larsson at WJC.) Skating isn't top notch, he sort of lumbers around, like both those guys but don't think it will necessarily impede him from being a good NHL player.

Johansen himself has stated that he admires and wants to be like Joe Thornton (and to a lesser degree Getzlaf).

His skating stride reminds me of a Carter/Staal mix. Most say he's got gross hands like Spezza so probably a hybrid of all three of them. Hopefully for CBJ's sake he can pan out to have an impact similar to them three. If him and Nash can gel, he could easily be an 80 point, physical horse once he grows.

His biggest obstacle is his skating ability. He can skate, but he really went through a growth spurt 2 years ago so he's still adjusting to his size/stride.

Having seen his offseason regimine this past summer, I'm optimistic that he'll figure it out. He essentially was immersed in the Blue Jackets locker room, chatting with the players and working out with them every day. I'm assuming he's keeping up the regimine that the Jackets prescribed for him.

When hearing scouting reports I thought Jason Spezza, but better defensively. Though after seeing the video posted in this thread I see more Jeff Carter in his game. Regardless, looks like the Jackets could be getting a good addition to their lineup.
