Good for Hamilton. The guy has been such a great captain and player for the Marlies. Definitely deserves his chance at a long look. He just had a hat-trick the other day too.

With Lupul probably suspended for at least a game or two, Hamilton gives the Leafs another option to put in the top 9.

Hamilton can sit in the press box when the team is healthy, maybe dress for a banged up player or to shake things up.

Players like Ashton and Colborne need to keep playing top minutes.

He's not a very good NHLer, but he's been nothing but the heart and soul of the Marlies. Glad to see those guys rewarded.

Is it just a speed issue? Just saw him a few shifts earlier this year and he looked a step behind

He has only played 3 games in the NHL and those were all minimal minutes...Not enough of a sample to say he isn't a good NHLer.

With that said, he is only up to replace Lupul if he is suspended, which I hope he isn't.

Doubt he'll see a lot of ice time but good for him to collect an NHL pay cheque for a bit.

I think it's mainly an agility and speed issue.

He can light the lamp pretty good in the AHL but can't seem to adjust his game to the NHL.

To be fair to him, he hasn't had much of a chance to prove his worth. He might need some time to find a niche, even if he's older than the usual AHL callup.

Don't like him as an NHL player.

Not enough strength or speed to play. Has looked out of place in all his call ups.

He's a good two-way guy in the AHL but not good enough in OFF or DEF to have a roll in the NHL.

Not enough strength my arse. And its a 4way mobility issue not straight ahead speed.

He cant go back through waivers, so hes either here for the 4th line for a while or we will likely lose him.

well deserved. Wish he wasnt soo overwhelmed at the NHL level i think he would be a much need upgrade on a 3rd-4th line role if he could put it together.

Why? He is not an NHLer. Why not get someone who actually still has hope like Ashton or Colborne?

Because he's not expected to play a lot of minutes. Pretty simple.

He may actually ride the press box more often that not, especially if we are healthy.

Ashton and Colborne benefit more from the additional minutes in the AHL than the few minutes in the NHL.
