22 year old guy not playing in the NHL regularly? Shocking. I guess he should just give up and retire.

add to that he just turned 22 20 days ago and has had several injuries impact his development. Out of a possible 194 games he could have played in the AHL to date, he's appeared in 135 games so he's missed 59 games which is 78% of one season although some were to call ups.

Another point last night for him on Laval's only goal. His consistency makes me feel confident this isn't just a hot streak

This is the time of the year when teams that are going to miss the playoffs try to desperately overate players.

I've been watching him since he was in the WHL, he's a very skilled but very frustrating player to watch. What a playmaker, can really dish the puck with some sick feeds but aside from some injuries, he's lacking very much in physical strength, his defensive game is poor, his effort was inconsistent. That said he also wasn't handled well by the Habs as they moved him around from RW to Center to LW to Center and then back to RW all while just coming back from being out most of the season to 2 major injuries (one was in the off-season).

He really seemed to turn a corner in the AHL playoffs last year, was playing his most inspired hockey as he usually struggles to win puck battles but the effort was there and since then he's looked the part this year although we'll see if he keeps that up or not. With him being a former 1st round pick and having to clear waivers next year, he's all but a lock to be in the NHL next year as he's got the skill just needs to get stronger and be with players that are good in their own end but can also convert on his passes which can be a thing of beauty.

That said I really don't think he should be with the Habs unless they clean house. I think he will have struggles under Julien unless he can work with him to help him improve his defensive game.

2nd highest points per game ratio after Dylan Strome amongst regular AHLers (Hainen, Labanc, Tuch,Aberg,Theodore & Jankowski have all played less than 10 games)

I must admit, last year I had very little hope in him being a regular NHL but he's been quite encouraging this year

I hope Habs don't ruin or trade him...Kids skill and style fit with Galchenyuk so well.

If he continues scoring he will be traded for _____(insert french name) asap.:sarcasm:

This is an insulting comment. For one, it's just a normal thing to do. It happens to show more because of the name but Toronto likes to get Ontario guys, New York likes to get New York guys, Boston the same... it's not only the Canadiens's francophone fans who likes to have local boys in their team.

Then if you look at the recent history, the Canadiens don't even draft or trade that much for french canadiens players. Vegas has more french canadiens, and they are all important players for the team... doing pretty good...

Back on Scherback, really hope he's good because that's about the only impactfull prospect left in the pipeline with Peohling.

Disagree. Brook is pretty good as well, Ikonen isn't a bad prospect despite a disappointing Liiga season. Juulsen is also solid despite lack of offensive production.

Regarding Scherbak, he did well yesterday and was praised by Julien. He needs a few games to get used to NHL speed but he had a few chances yesterday and was solid on the powerplay.

You're right, forgot about Juulsen. But Ikonen is disappointing and I don't think Brook will be in impactfull player. But I can understand I could be wrong on that. I just seem them Lehkonen type of player, NHL good but not impactfull player.

I think the team built by the management is insulting to a great franchise.
