What kinda team is Baie-Comeau expected to have next season?

Légaré and Gabriel Fortier (Tampa prospect) should lead them and produce a lot of points, but they don't have much else. Xavier Bouchard (Vegas) is alright on D. They have a new coach in Jon Goyen, the former Lac St.Louis coach who produced a ton of skilled guys over the years. Realistically, they will be middle of the pack, but I think they will decide to rebuild, and probably trade Fortier and Bouchard (both AHL eligible next year), so they'll finish lower tier

Légaré is big friend with Alexis Lafreniere, so it wouldn't surprise me if Rimouski makes a play to acquire him. They grew up together in the same neighborhood and played all their minor hockey together. But that remains to be seen, since it would cost a lot.

Honestly IMO Frk was mis-utilized. Anyone who watched him in the AHL knew he was a PP specialist.

Kid has a ****ing rocket but got so little PP time on Det.

That was the problem. It's very difficult to get value out of that kind of specialist at the NHL level.

That's why Légaré absolutely needs to improve his skating to stick in the league. He's strong, but he'll never be big enough to dominate physically at this level and he needs some way to put himself in position to use his shot effectively.

Legare is heating up in a big way right now.
6 goals, 9 points in 2 games this weekend. On pace to better his total of 87 points from last year on a way worse team. Leads the team in points by 17 and goals by 12. Took the captaincy this year and stepped up big time. Darkhorse to make the NHL with Pittsburgh next year.

Yeah I think given the differing situations he’s had just as impressive of a season as Poulin has had.

Yep, Legare has looked just as impressive every time I’ve seen him. You exchange the linemates and supporting cast and I think his numbers are easily as good.

The skating is coming along for both of them, which is the big thing, anyhow.

What happened to him? Was expecting him to make the team this year. 1 pts in 4 AHL games too? Will he ever make it to the NHL?

another bump.

well, i pictured his career progress a bit differently, sure he is only 21,
but then again he is 21 and not 18 or something.

7 goals, 16 points in 59 games last season, 3 goals 0 assists in 19 games so far this season

maybe his development takes time, but not great pro career start

I still could see him carving out an NHL career but obviously he’s gonna have to find a role in the AHL first. Right now he’s just kind of in-between, not great at any one thing. Cut weight and added some speed this past summer but still never really established himself.

I was expecting him to have a bit of a break-out with the baby Pens this year, maybe he will with Laval.

Never improved past juniors, was physically more mature then most kids in the Q, turned pro and just another guy in the AHL, shame at a time I did have hope for him, has REALLY struggled with injuries, inconsistency and bad play since turning pro, hen he isnt hurt he's either been healthy scratched or just being a mid level AHL 4th liner , he can throw some good hits, but was projected as a big time scoring power forward prospect with a nasty hard accurate shot, that uhh never happened.

wow some pretty wild takes in this thread
Dime a dozen prospect. He's AHL depth for the Habs.

Wow I can't believe we got a top 10 talent for free. :sarcasm:
He really has a lot of skill. Looking at his statlines will tell you a different story but he’s struggled to adapt to the pro game. He’s a goal scorer that hasn’t been able to find his scoring touch. Give him a few more years before writing him off but let’s not forget he outperformed guys like Dylan Holloway and Jakob Pelletier in the WJC’s.
