Stransky recently re-signed with Trinec for next season (2020-21). Had nearly a point-per-game season this past year.

Is this merely due to the level of play in the Czech Extraliga or is there a chance he is seen back in North America at some point?

On the plus side, he did score 20+ goals in each of his final two seasons with the Texas Stars.

On the other hand, he turns 27 this summer and had mediocre numbers in both the KHL and in Sweden prior to this season.

I'd say he hit his athletic peak in the wrong league. Eg. 27 year old forwards in the Extraliga don't make many trips to the NHL anymore. Maybe the occasional D has left Extraliga to go to the AHL (Simek). For a forward... having a good Extraliga season usually means go to the KHL, SEL and AHL before the NHL. He's already done all those things.
