He's paid his dues in the AHL and earned this 1-way deal. Low risk, potential very high reward signing for the team, especially if he keeps up the pace and chemistry he had with Aho and Teravainen at the end of last season.

That's a pretty lofty aspiration for a 23 year old with only 12 NHL games on his resume. I think most Canes fans will be happy with him holding down a top 9 roster spot for the length of the season.

All depends if he stays on the line with Aho. If yes then calder is on the table, if no then yeah - he probably going to be happy hanging on to a top 9 gig. Necas and Svech coming in will affect his fortune but there is also PP time. Zyk should in front of the net guy on the #1 PP.

Really hope the Stars pick him up but he won't fall that far. Someone will get him before that

to be fair though, he did look good at the end of last season with aho.
