Russian Aleksei Sergeev is having a good season so far in the QMJHL with 8 goals and 10 assists in 15 games.

He played in Kazakhstan last season and he decided to come to the CHL to get on the radar of NHL teams. He's the leading scorer among players taken in the last Import Draft.

Saw him mentioned as an overage player with the potential to be selected in the 2020 NHL Draft. But have not found many articles explaining why.

He had decent numbers after returning from injury but wasn't ranked as an international skater for the 2018 NHL Draft nor has he been to a development camp.

Is there any NHL potential there?
