Hi everyone :)

Who's Russia sending to play in the series against the CHL All Stars ? Is Ovechkin coming ?

I'm particularly interested to know who will be playing on Nov. 20 in Halifax, both for the Russian Team and the QMJHL All Star team.

Anybody have roster lists for this ?

Thanks

:)

Ovechkin was on the roster to go to the Karjala Cup in Finland. I don't know if the same roster will come to NA, but I doubt it since the RSL starts up again around the 12th. :dunno:

Karjala Cup is not a junior tourney, it is the tournament of senior teams. Ovechkin is out for one week, he has a haematoma of the hip, he was injured during the game Russia U20 vs Russia, playing for the senior team. He just need some rest for a week.

As for the roster of the Russian team in re/max, here are some thoughts:

Don't get too excited about theses games.

As Slay reported in a previous post, we still don't know yet which russian players will travel to Canada but it is doubtfull that the best ( Korneev, Malkin, OV, Zherdeev...) will be here because they are involved in the RSL championship with their respective team. Will Tikhonov let Zherdeev cross the ocean? Who knows if he would fly back after the games? :) Seriously, the one playing on the fourth line of their russian team could be here.

We shall expect that some of the actual Russians already playing in CHL will play for Russia.

Keep in mind that these are exhibition games. These guys won't practice together many times before the games ( the Canadian ones at least) and won't form a real unit.

It should be a nice show ( lets enjoy it), with a lot of speed and skills demonstrated but because of the context of these games, we should not fix a definitive evaluation of the players involved.

Earth...how about you?
Ovechkin

I read on the Russian websites that Ovechkin has a hip injury and a "crisis of the bones of the nose" which I assume is a broken nose. He played with the broken nose but the hip injury forced him to take some time off. The Russian trainer said a week but I don't know, it depends on how serious it is. But he will not be playing for Russia for the Continental Cup. I don't know if he will be playing in the 2-game tournament against Canada or not.
