And yet almost every game was tied or a 1 goal game going into the 3rd period. Don't you think an extra goal or 2 from the power play would have made a difference?

We are not one PP specialist away from that. It is a team mentality. They are so afraid of not allowing SHG that they cycle the outside rather than shooting. Trotz has been amazing for this team, but to take that next step we have to go harder to the net with pucks.

Goligoski getting FIVE MILLION for 1 year . . .

I think we should be assuming that Beau is being traded for a 2nd LD since paying the price for some of these FA's is way above our original projections

Getting Lee back to plug the front of the net will be huge. Do not underestimate what his loss meant to us. Essentially, we have Lee replacing Eberle.

With Savard signing in Montreal I have to believe they are going to look to swap a defenseman for offense

We didn't allow a SHG last year until the playoffs. There is something to be said for that.
I agree that we need to go to the net more. Josh Bailey cannot be in the bumper spot on PP1 because he hesitates on his passes too much. We need quick puck movement and they just don't do that. Adding Parise, getting Lee back, plus a full year of Palmieri on the power play should at least give it more of a straight ahead look.

I totally disagree. The problem with our PP is that it relies on shots from the circles, the slot, or on rebounds. There is no threat up high. Leddy was both too deliberate, and not good enough getting shots through. Pulock tends to shoot from the circle or not at all. NYI haven't had truly complete passing/shooting PPQB since Streit. That's why some of us are thinking about a possible pickup of Subban during the season.

A full year of Lee, Wahlstrom, Palmieri and yes even Parise should do wonders for this PP.

Of course they are going to have to change up things on how they run it, but I would be shocked if our PP doesn't improve DRAMATICALLY

1 for 19 against TB, and the lone one we scored shouldn't have even been a penalty on them....

Coleman is not the correct comparison to Cizikas. Coleman has 2 20 goal seasons, he doubled Cizikas' goal output in 2020/2021. Cizikas is a 4th line center worth 3 million a year. Anything more let him walk.

With Hamilton gone - I think Seattle is set on their D - I doubt they make anyone available before camp...

Gio - Dunn
Oleksiak - Larsson
Soucy - Lauzon

with H. Fleury, Borgen as the extra pair.

Cholowksi and Cale Fleury go thru waivers and probably clear and go to the AHL - maybe Cale Fleury gets claimed by the Sabres.

Why are we trading beau? Why does this horrible idea keep coming up?

When Montreal comes calling with a $6 million offer sheet do you match it?

If Goligoski gets $5 million and Coleman gets his haul and Hyman his, how do you sign him for $4 million?

Relax, today is the silly season…the day that regrettable contracts are given out. Let’s not add another after getting rid of Ladd’s anchor. Lou will take his time and be prudent.

I actually came here to say this. It's usually better that you're quiet upon the opening of Free Agent Frenzy.

Wennberg just got $4.5 million for 3 years . . . if you think Beau is signing for less than that you are kidding yourself
