Fedotov doesn't turn 23 until the end of November.
While we're spoiled by Hart and a couple young goalies before him, there's a sizeable contingent of NHL starting goalies who didn't arrive until they were 24-26 years old - Binnington for example (25 last season).

Fedotov has shown gradual improvement the last few years, maybe another example of "big man syndrome."
2014-15: MHL .911, PO 10g .894
2015-16: MHL .910, PO 5g, .916
2016-17: only played 8 games (injury?)
2017-18: VHL .899
2018-19: VHL .929

The light seemed to go on last year at 21/22 years old, off to a good start this season, so certainly bears watching.

KHL is pretty low scoring in general.

But it being early season has an effect.

About ~10 goalies a year post .930 sv%.

What's nice is they can stash him for a couple more years in the KHL, which is a better league than the AHL, then bring him over when they think he's NHL ready.

Probably not for a couple more seasons, Flyers have his rights indefinitely, and why put him in the AHL and block other goalies when you can let him play in a better league and retain his rights.
