Högberg played 22:12 in a 2-0 Allsvenskan loss today.

He was -1 (on EN GA) and had 1 SOG.

I watched the last ~25 minutes. He looked pretty darn good.

Played the right side, smooth skating, really good defensive positioning, transitioned puck well. Created a nice chance on doorstep with a quick shot from boards too.

Högberg broke his foot last match blocking a shot. Did not realise at the time, played out the game.

But a scan the other day showed that it was broken, so his season is over.

Björklöven will really miss him. He had already established himself on their top pairing, and they are in a relegation battle with only 6 healthy defensemen now.

It sucks, but at least he got most of the season in.

Oh yeh, he played 67 games this season... including 49 against men where he acquitted himself very well.

Looking forward to what he will do next year. He is close to a lock for the WJC. His skating+defensive positioning is fantastic for his age. Pretty rare defensive IQ for an 18 year old in my mind (still not 19 for 6 months).

Man have the flyers done a great job drafting dmen. With Ghost (24) and Provorov (20) already in the NHL and guys like Travis Sanheim (21), Robert Hagg (22) and Samuel Morin (22) in the AHL they are already set on the backend for the future. They still got one of the best defence prospect coming to the pros soon in Phillipe Myers (20) and then you got a very underrated prospect buried under a stacked prospect pool in Linus Högberg.
Played 35 games in the SHL as a 18 year old and looked very calm and relaxed. He only recorded 4 assists on the year but his defence play was outstanding. Very high hockey IQ and anticipates the play well. His acceleration could use some work but overall his skating isnt a problem.
Look for him to up his numbers next year and gain more ice time as he gained the confidence of his coaches early on in the year.
I expect him to play another 2 years in the SHL and then come to the AHL.
Obviously not everyone will pan out as the Flyers management hopes, but with this much depth it will definitely be good in a couple years time.

Cant wait to see Hogberg make Sweden for the WJC and then here the expressions of frustration from other fans that he is a Flyers prospect

Just give Joakim Grundberg a late round pick and let him do his thing.

Wouldn't mind giving him some top 60-100 picks now and again too. Only Sandstrom was in that range. He needs a raise.

"Liljegren is carrying him."

Realistically, if EITHER Hogberg or Bernhardt make it as solid 3rd pair defensemen they were collectively great picks, what are the odds of 5th and 7th rd picks starting in the NHL?

Not a bad first.

Lucky assist off shin pad to Lilijegren for a weak goal. It was good offensive awareness on Liljegren to put the puck net I guess.

The goal that Hogberg was on for it wasn't his fault. The FW couldnt get puck out, and once Hogberg tied up his man, liljegren went all Carle and didn't take the pass away or the man for open net
