Our stars are going to have to show up consistently to have a chance here. We can't have multiple games with Aho, Dougie, TT, Svech, Trocheck etc. doing nothing and leaning on the likes of McGinn and Foegele to pick up the slack. Tampa is just too skilled and deep for us to sustain that.

Seriously, I remember that even though it only went 5 games as opposed to our 6, Tampa had a war of a serious vs Columbus last season, and I felt that only made them better when they had to play Boston. People also wrote Tampa off against the Islanders and the Stars, who are both teams built of the same mold as Nashville.

Also, I would like to see this team against the best of the best. Having an easy road to a cup is good, but testing yourself against the best gives you the best indications of what we'd need to improve on if we were to lose.

I'm not expecting an easy series, but I think if the Canes play their best, they could take it. It's clear that Slavin is what makes this team run. It's crazy how much better this team plays when he's in the lineup. If Jordan is the motor, Slavin is the key.

Canes tend to play “up” to their competition and “down” to the lesser teams. So, I’m expecting the series to go to 6 or 7 games. No idea who wins it, but I like the matchup against TBL better than FLA. Home ice will be key. Get some rest and hope Svechnikov pulls his head out of his butt.
