This was there 2010 Roster, should be similar imo. If LA gets eliminated in the 1st round Kopitar would play I would think.

Kopitar has a broken leg. That being said I don't know when he's expected to return.

I wonder if Detroit will let Mursak play for Slovenia again before returning for the playoffs (like last year).

I notice Slovenia has a group of young forwards thats very high in the scoring race in the austrian league. Even though they probably will be relegated they seem to have a future to look forward to! Wonder if we will seemore slovenian guys in sweden. Kopitar, Urbas and Gregorc all have turned out well. Especially Kopitar :)

I hope Slovenija avoids relegation. I know their ambassador to Canada and his family. One of the daughters goes to the school I work at. Kopitar visited their home in November.

As Slovenian I can say that we are very proud of our team and very optimistic regarding staying in group A. First round is probably to heavy for us (Slovakia, Russia and Germany), but then in relegation round I do believe we have chances to stay in group A.

Obviously it would be great to have Kopitar in team and he would come for sure if he would be healty and Kings would lose in round 1. Regarding Mursak it will be decided next week, right now there is a big chance according to coach Matjaz Kopitar that Detroit will let him join our NT. They let him last year, when we played in group B and were very satisfied how he played and he was one of the main reason that this year we play in group A.

Our team is mix of older and younger players. First two attacking lines are forming some of better players of EBEL (Austrian) league, third attacking line is very good young attacking line from Jesenice. Many other young players are playing abroad. Goalie is also very good - Kristan, who would have much better carrer if he wouldn't so much like to enjoy in ordinary life (you know what I mean). He was goalie MVP this season in EBEL with around 95% saves.

Player to watch is Ticar (21 years old). There are rumors in Slovenia that Montreal is interested in signing him.

Probably the bigest strenght is our NT Coach Matjaz Kopitar. He again united the players. Under previous coach there was big possibility that some of our best players wouldn't come to play in following WC.

We'll see. If you take into consideration that whole country has six ice rings under the roof, playing in group A is huge achievment for us.

Notable miss-outs:
Anže Kopitar (LA Kings, NHL) - injury
Jan Muršak (Detroit, NHL) - season still in progress
Jan Urbas (Mälmo, SWE) - injury

So bascilly one line of forwards is missing. Unfortunatly for Slovenia its the best one with the most fire power.

Things to look for:
Robert Kristan - had a great season in EBEL league (Austria-6, Slovenia-2, Hungary-1, Croatia-1) with 92,3% SVS and 2,90 GAA avarage in 33 games. He was also the sole reason why his team managed to get in the playoffs.

Blaž Gregorc - made a debut this season in Eliteserien and will be interesting in what this young defenceman can do on top international level

JTS line - a group of talented young players from Jesenice that exploded in this season of EBEL league and combined a total of 71G; 110A; 181Pts in regular season (54) and were the main reason why their mediocre team was cometing for the playoff spot right until the very end.

:amazed:...look at that:
It is always a remarkable and laudable feat when Slovenia appears in the Top Division. This is, after all, a nation with eight indoor rinks and 155 registered senior male players. In other words, about one out of every six of those players is on the national team. So there is little margin for error.
