I hope they bring a lot of the young guns from the NHL, and also the young players from the SEL. That would make the WC so much more interesting.

Imagine...

Huselius-Berglund-Steen

Tedenby-Josefson-Paajarvi (imagine the speed of this line:amazed:)

Weinhandl-Krúger-Omark

Silfverberg-Pahlsson-Andersson

Karlsson-Enstrom

Johansson-Ekholm

A.Larsson-Rundblad

That team would be so much fun to watch!

I imagine the team will include some older guys from Elitserien though, like for example Martin Thörnberg, and that Mårts gets a couple of no thanks from, for example Påhlsson and Huselius.
I hope they bring Robert Nilsson if he plays like he did in the first tournament, where he actually was pretty awesome.

That is as bad as S. Erixon-Rundblad in the EHT..

But has more all-star flavor! :) I'm sure we could squeeze in Carl Gunnarsson somewhere when the final team should be announced.

It's always nice to watch your games :) because your coach is bold enough to pick those young players. Well, Swedes have much larger material than Finns, but still... :shakehead

Would someone tell me a bit about that David Rundblad? Huge points in Elitserien. He seems to be great on offensive zone.. What about defensive zone?:amazed:

Hörnqvist would make the team, even if he haven't had the best of seasons his still a lock for a rightwing spot if he is available. It's not like Tre Kronor have a million good rightwingers that shoots right to chose from. I would love to have him on the team, both as a sniper and as a modern version of Holmström.

A preliminary roster has been released for two games versus Latvia on March 30 and April 1. Great to see Lasu in there, he had a very good season with Frölunda. Just excellent on the PK.

I like this roster (though of course there is others who could take spot over if available).

The North
Joakim Lindström - Tony Mårtensson - Mattias Weinhandl
Robert Nilsson - Niklas Persson - Patrik Zackrisson
Andreas Jämtin - Joel Lundqvist - Martin Thörnberg
Gabriel Landeskog - Mattias Sjögren - Daniel Brodin

Magnus Johansson - Staffan Kronwall
Mattias Ekholm - Anders Eriksson
Jonas Frögren - Adam Larsson

We don't need any NHL players!

Landeskog isn't elgiable for WC and this roster isn't a competitor for a medal. Not a fair fight against Canada, USA or Russia.

Even with Alfredsson, Steen and Hedberg declining there's plenty of players currently out of the playoffs to consider for the tournament. We could have a really strong team, it's unfortunate few of them are likely to play though, even with MÃ¥rts taking over.

P. Berglund
L. Eriksson
L. Omark
N. Bergfors
M. Paajarvi

S. PÃ¥hlsson
