Are there still some players coming, or is that all NHL-help we get?

Tuomo Ruutu
Mikko Koivu
Anssi Salmela
Jesse Joensuu (Nice surprise!)
Sami Lepistö

Awesome news!! I am so happy about Mikko Koivu coming, I was a little worried at first.

This is what I envision now (assuming no more additions are coming from NHL)

T. Ruutu - M. Koivu - Peltonen
Lahti - Immonen - Aaltonen
Joensuu - Granlund - Pulkkinen
Pihlstrom - Komarov - Nokelainen
Lehtera, Petrell

Salmela - Lepisto
Vaananen - Karalahti
Kukkonen - Niskala
Puistola, Hietanen

Lehtonen/Backstrom/Vehanen

Oh didn't see page 4. Post deleted.

On a sidenote i don't understand how few of you who posted above me can leave N. Kapanen out. One of the best centers that has ever played for Finland and i think he's closest to confirmed outside of these 5 NHL players announced today for joining the team since they allowed him to join practise squad late.

no way, he might do the 4th line but nothing more, just doesnt have the offensive ability.

If we call Immonen a solid center who doesn't do mistakes then N.Kapanen is a step above him and what i've seen he is always 1 of the best scorers (in assists mainly, not goals) in the team in World Championships for Finland as well.

Year Team GP G A Pts PIM
1997 Finland Jr. WJC 6 4 4 8 0
1998 Finland Jr. WJC 7 2 5 7 2
2000 Finland WC 9 4 3 7 4
2001 Finland WC 9 3 1 4 8
2002 Finland WC 9 0 4 4 10
2004 Finland WC 7 3 2 5 14
2004 Finland W-Cup 6 1 2 3 0
2005 Finland WC 7 1 4 5 8
2006 Finland OG 8 2 1 3 2
2007 Finland WC 9 0 7 7 6
2008 Finland WC 9 2 5 7 0
2009 Finland WC 7 7 3 10 0
2010 Finland OG 6 0 2 2 0

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niko_Kapanen Click here if that looked confusing. The second last number from the right are points.

This is from his Wikipedia page... Last year was his worst but all others he has got somethind done and he hasn't been in the best lines either. He simply makes his linemates look better :P.

Im pretty glad about those 5players joining the team. Still hoping that Jalonen would chose Pulkkinen , Granlund and Hartikainen if he's AHL games end up soon.
Maybe not ready for wc but would be good experience. I've seen enough of Santala+others every year choises.

SO true!

I'm not sure about the Juice joining the team, but I really, really hope that we could add Hartikainen to the roster!

Granny and Pulkks would be great additions as well.

I've always liked N. Kapanen for the energy he brings into the game. Sometimes he seemingly manages to make the whole line skate faster and play better, which is very important if you think how many times the Finnish team has collapsed during the second or third period. But I admit, his offensive goal-making capabilities are not the best.

I'd still take him into the team, definitely!

Is there any chance for Sami Vatanen to make it into the WC?

Small chance. He just had a breakout year and he is RFA. Getting good contract is more important than risking playing these B-tournaments.

Good point. Didn't know he was a RFA.

Let's see what happens, who knows, maybe Detroit will get knocked out and V-Flip will join the team! lol :yo:
