New thread. Ashholes go away (remember - I still officially live in Iceland)...

"Over fair meadows steaming in November
Above the cool face of an unsuspecting lava field
Unstill, ever moving, the law of an ancient people
As the silent cortège processes in the year of The Plague
War is a coming - while Peace is within
Search your strength - May the best man win!
"

Peeking Buch: lol you guys look sweaty and tired, I'll be back for Free Skate Dangling Time

Do NHL teams do that tire pull thing? Jagr's wearing body and leg weights seems more effective ha

interesting to see how FEW guys will be UFA after next season
New York Rangers - CapFriendly - NHL Salary Caps
UFA's: Just PDG, Smith, JJohnson and Brodzinski (whose signing I keep forgetting ...)
... 15 pending RFAs
with a handful of incoming/returning young guys, possibly
- Robertson, Lundkvist, Skinner, Henriksson?, Pajuniemi? ... Sjalin?(rights expire '21)
Rykov? (unclear if he comes back for '20-21, and if not, if he-signs as RFA...)

Trying to remember the breakdown of salaries coming off the books, but that will equate to losing some UFAs over the next several years too.

Rangers’ quiet offseason did no harm to long-term roster building.

So the Rangers’ offseason business is essentially complete with Friday’s signing of Brendan Lemieuxto a two-year deal for an annual cap hit of $1.55 million per that leaves them with enough remaining space so that potential bonus payments on entry-level contracts shouldn’t have a deleterious impact on the opening roster.

The Blueshirts presumably will add another forward and defenseman to the mix. Keep in mind that, at least for the first half of the season, entry-level players would be charged the full amount of their respective cap charges that would include all potential bonuses.

Two things:

1) Uncle Larry lists Howden as a W there

2) That defense needs work and we severely lack a 1LD. I suppose we could try TDA, but we know about his defensive deficiencies and he may not be the best guy to pair with Trouba. Maybe one of our insiders can chime in, but perhaps we could trade Brendan Smith along with a third rounder (we have two in 2021) in a cap dump to open more cap space and then use that cap space to acquire a top-4 LD like Vince Dunn? It'll obviously cost a prospect or two, but it may be worth it.
