Good move for him. Vermont took a big step back last year as a team and weren't looking to be any better next year so his production wasn't going to increase. As for development he's going to be getting a lot more games in compared to college so hopefully his first two seasons he put in the work in the weightroom to bulk up. As for his position with the Crunch it's hard to say, I see him as a wing not a center and we have strong wings already.

Katchouk - Stephens - Raddysh
Volkov - Verheaghe - Joseph
Yan - Dumont - Bournival
Barre-Boulet - Sommpi - Colton
Tammela

But that doesn't include guys like Lynch or Walcott who will most likely be in the lineup over Sommpi and Colton. There's going to be a huge competition between Yan, ABB, Sommpi, Colton and Tammela to get any ice time. The Crunch has a ton of injuries last year so the depth is great and they all should see the ice at some point.

Looking at our list of prospects, we have wingers who have NHL potential down to 3 and 4th lines. But other than Stephens, our list of Center prospects is bare. This could be another reason why Yzerman makes a big push for Taveras as we need to secure C for the near future!

Point is 22, Cirelli is about to be 21. We have guys who could be 4th line center like Verheaghe or Sommpi. Lipanov has 2C potential if he reaches it but 3C more likely. Stamkos is still a 1C so we really don't need a Tavares but would but nice to have him as we don't have to give up anything for him.
