I don’t think people realize just how much constant losing ****s with a player. Jack Eichel hasn’t won in 4 seasons, basically his entire adult life he’s played for a loser. That’s going to effect him more then you think.

Teams like Chicago that were bad basically starting winning as soon as Toews and Kane got there, Washington and Pitt turned it around as soon as there stars arrived, so did Toronto. We are the Oilers.
Eichel=Kadri, Risto=Phaneuf. The stars will arrive in the coming drafts. ;-)

I'm not sure who "wins" the tiebreaker if the Sabres and Ducks both end up with 76 pts.
Fairly certain it's the same rules as standings.

So ROW is the tie breaker after points. Since Anaheim has 30 ROW and we have 26, we cannot pass them in the standings.

Anaheim has 30 ROW and Buffalo 26, so they are locked into anywhere from 1-8

Rags are probably going to win tonight, so no chance we'll catch them at least

One regulation loss guarantees we can't pass Detroit. If we lose to Ottawa in regulation and beat Detroit we still finish behind them.

We need to lose in 60 the next 2 games. We need the Kings to go 1-0-1. We need the Devils to win one more game.

Finishing 30th would be epic.

Uh Oh, the Sens are starting rookie goalie Joey Daccord on Thursday vs. Buffalo

I wonder if there is anyway the Leafs will lend us Garrett Sparks for the game.:D

No, if the Sabres won the next 2 games, they most like likely finish 6th. They could lose 3 spots in the lottery to draft 9th. Worst case. Most likely finish 5th is my guess and draft 6th after the lottery.

The Sabres are good at making back up no namers look like Hasek on a constant basis.

I know we likely win at least once. Just win once and lose the other in regulation. I know we are not going to go 0-2-0 and the Devils and Kings get their required points. But if we can pick 4th pre lotto and likely pick 5 or 6 I would be very pleased.

Just win out who cares. I’m sick of hearing how this next 18 year old is gonna change anything around here. I can’t believe in 2019 how excited losing games makes some of you guys.

Whether we pick 3rd or 8th it’s abour time our damn organization got a stud.

The better/more ready prospects will be selected at 3 compared to 8, so I'll be rooting for 2 losses.

Wrong thread bud.

Exactly. Winning the last two games does NOTHING for a roster that will flip anywhere from 5-9 roster spots. Lose out for sure. Could end up drafting 3rd

We’re finishing 6th. Rangers are not winning again, and Sabres are going to beat Detroit.

Third never seemed that realistic, I’ve always been hoping for 4th. But ya, that Detroit game could be the difference between 4th and a very real shot in the lottery and guaranteed one of the top 7 tier guys and potentially drafting 9th overall.

Hughes

Kakko

Podkolzin

Dach
Cozens
Bryam

That’s kinda how Bob McKenzie has the tier.

We have bad luck in 8th OA. Mittelstadt looks decent, but Nylander and Risto probably aren’t great picks.

The difference between 4th and 8th

2011 Larsson vs Couturier
2012 Reinhart vs Pouliot LOL
2013 Jones vs Risto
2014 Bennett vs Nylander
2015 Marner vs Werenski
2016 Puljujarvi vs Nylander
2017 Makar vs Mittelstadt

The absolute worst case scenario is that we end up 9th overall

So one of Hughes, Kakko, Turcotte, Dach, Podkolzin, Byram, Krebs, Zegras, Cozens is guaranteed, unless we go off the board.

3-9 are all pretty interchangeable. So it's nice to know that we're walking away with at least one of these guys at this point, no matter what.
