The Cure
Def Leppard
Janet Jackson
Stevie Nicks
Radiohead
Roxy Music
The Zombies

Most of that list represents nostalgia over quality. Roxy Music is the only one with a sufficient body of work that includes song quality and distinct style. Zombies have a tiny number of spectacularly good songs, but they're closer to being one-hit-wonders than Hall of Famers. Radiohead, Cure, and Def Leppard are screamingly mediocre, IMO. And Janet Jackson?? Seriously? As for Stevie Nicks, while she certainly had a unique voice (sadly, a very distant past "Had"), almost all her worthwhile music was made with Fleetwood Mac.

Def Leppard lov em or hate em had two of the biggest albums of all time and their use of videos for hysteria did cause a change in how serious videos were taken

I don't get the Zimbies either
