Me and some friends are going to be flying down to LA to watch the Flames play in Anaheim and LA at the end of November and I was wondering if anyone could offer an opinion as to where would be a good place to stay for the weekend?

I'd like an area close to the arena, easily accessible to LAX and freeway to Anaheim, good night life close by... etc.

Any suggestions on what neighborhood or area to stay at, specific hotels, bars/clubs to check out, places to eat, nice golf courses closeby, it'd be much appreciated!

Yeah look at the stick thread. But Long Beach is central to both arenas. It is 15-20 miles from LAX ($50-$60 cab fare). There is tons of nightlife in Long Beach it is close to both Huntington/Newport Beach area and the South Bay (Hermosa/Manhattan/Redondo). Both of those areas along with Long Beach have excellent night life. Long Beach might be cheaper to stay at or at least you'll probably get more bang for you buck in regards to hotel quality. I could be wrong though. There are 7 Golf Courses in Long Beach and a ton in Orange County too. If you are looking really fancy, there is the Donald Trump course up in Palos Verdes. I think that will set you back $300 a round. There are a million courses in the $50 range. And if you were to rent a car and drive to Palm Springs area (2 hour drive), there are some very nice courses for pretty cheap.

As far as specifics go, you'll have to be a little more specific about what you are looking for. For example, I'd never set foot in a place that charges a cover to get in then charges $12 a drink. If that is your thing, I don't really have solid advice because I'd NEVER have fun in a place like that.

Stay on Katella Ave.

The Tilted Kilt just east of the Honda center on Katella is a great pregame spot. :)

Spend a day at Newport Beach.

Stick to the downtown area of any city or beach areas. (Orange,Fullerton,LongBeach)

Go to Pechanga casino in Temecula , nice golf course ($$$).

Don't bother with nightclubs, waste of money and time.

Thats all I got. Like others will say, I've heard Long Beach is great nightlife as well. Just never been myself.

Long Beach is a great idea...very close to LA and Anaheim and 2nd street is a great place to hang. Shame the Ice Dogs dont play anymore otherwise that would be the hockey trifecta.

Make sure you eat at In N Out Burger as well as Tommy's(preferably the Beverly/Rampart location). The Lazy Dog in Anaheim is a good place to hang along with the Twisted Kilt as someone else mentioned. If you have time in OC go check out a vietnamese coffee shop.

Also gotta agree with Bral....screw the nightclubs-the costs of going clubbing in LA and OC are simply not worth it given the other options.
