Patrik Jonsson has sadly passed away after a battle with cancer.

The man who was instrumental in the Canucks drafting Hoglander, this is a big loss for the Canucks and for everyone who has known him.

Loss for the scouting department and roster as Patrik Jonsson was close to Hoglander and his family. It's amazing the Swedish presence we have there and it continues to grow with Sedins coming back, drafting of Pettersson and Hoglander. There's good chemistry between Sweden and Vancouver, I just wish it translated to success.

That's very sad news.

If some of you are in your mid 40's and have a family history of prostate cancer it's good to start getting your PSA checked. When detected early, prostate cancer is very curable. In no way I am not implying Jonsson wasn't getting his checked.
