RIP

One of my favorite players of all time.

I remember a game vs the Flyers at Maple Leaf Gardens in the mid 70's. Dave "The Hammer" Schultz dropped his gloves and Shack was waiving his hands in front of him and shaking his head no, no, no. He then dropped the gloves and went toe to toe with him. It's also one of my favorite fights of all time.

In 1969 Shack took 2 BAD penalties in a playoff game in Montreal and was a healthy scratch for Game 3 and saw limited action the rest of the series. Sinden and Milt sent him to oblivion during the offseason.

1969-May-14 Traded from Boston Bruins with Ross Lonsberry to Los Angeles Kings for Ken Turlik, round 1 pick in the 1971 draft (Ron Jones) and round 1 pick in the 1973 draft (Andre Savard)

Boston Bruins - Montréal Canadiens - April 13th, 1969

Didn't he do the same thing about 2 weeks prior
when Boston played Montreal for 1st place in a home and home to end regular season? Thought he took
a charging/high stick penalties and Montreal cashed in
and took first game and thus clinched 1st.

Only Bruin happy was
Melrose's Paul "The Shot" Hurley. Allowed B's to
play Hurley as last game was meaningless. Ended up being the only NHL game the 1968 US Olympian
played in NHL.
