RIP Dirty Dick Slater

It is being reported that legendary territory wrestler Dick Slater has passed away at the age of 67.

Slater wrestled for several promotions during his 20+ year career including different runs for promotions such as Georgia Championship Wrestling, Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling, Mid-South Wrestling, WCW and a brief stint with WWE.

Among others, Slater had held NWA‘s United States Title, the NWA Television Title and the WCW Tag Team Championships with The Barbarian. It’s currently unknown as to what caused Slater’s untimely death.

I like what I've seen of Slater's tag team with his fellow Dick (Murdoch) and I'll always enjoy the stories of his toughness. My favourite is the one when he gave Sting an actual swirly.
