Somebody better get in there... it’s too late.
Early season prediction: goals, assists, point totals for Riley.
You guys will love Riley
Step away from whatever you are taking/drinking. If he does 10-20-30 I'd be surprised. Other than a hot streak when elevated to play with Marchand & Pastrnak last year his history looks more like a 25 point guy who misses 10-15 games a year.
Exactly. I expect heavy PK and late game usage to put away games. And a lot of 5v5 time, especially the defensive draws.
This would make sense if he wins the 1C job from Dubois.
Everyone’s entitled to their own opinions. I happen to have watched quite a few of Riley Nash’s games these past few years whether it was with CAR or BOS and I believe his style of play fits perfectly like a glove with ‘Jackets Hockey’.
I don’t get it though. @CBJWennberg10 gets bashed for being too pessimistic. I get bashed for being too optimistic. What/where’s the middle ground?
Oh, and do yourself a favor and please don’t ever assume ssomeone is ‘drinking’. Kidding or not. Just because someone else’s opinion doesn’t match up with your’s doesn’t mean they’re wrong and your right, or vice versa, bud. Btw, grammar and punctuation are your friends, not foe.
I'd be perfectly happy if Riley Nash put up 10 goals and 35 points this year. I think that's a reasonable range, given that I think the Wennberg and Nash lines will both have some scoring edge to them because of our wings. Foligno/Jenner/Bjorkstrand/Milano/Dubinsky/Anderson are not Pastrnak and Marchand, but they can be serviceable.
Can be is the operative term for many, after last season.
I'll go with 13 goals 32 points which is still decent.
We'll be a damn good team if our 3rd line center has 48 points.
I'll say around 25 points.
If it makes you feel any better, I'm sure people would rather read your too optimistic posts than mine.
Canucks were cajoling him for that "talk week" he's local guy and all, but sounds like he wanted more money from a rebuilding team so they went after Beagle, also Ducks and Sabres where confirmed after him as well. Who knows who else.
it's a total crap shoot right now, need to see who his line mates are
I've been 'bashed' for attempting to find middle ground.
There are a lot of voices on the forum, and thus a lot of opinions. You make a mistake when you assume that there's some uniform perspective - who's to say the people disagreeing with CBJW are the same ones disagreeing with you?
Look, he if he plays his normal two-way game I'll be happy. The points will come. I'm just hoping that Torts doesn't continue to use Foligno at center. This move doesn't look like it improves those odds. It's a net neutral move on the depth chart.
Shouldn't this go in The Jersey Thread?
15-20-35 is my prediction
Liten up; francis.
I was thinking more along these lines
12 goals 26 assists 38 pts
Closer Look: What Does Riley Nash Bring to the Blue Jackets?
Some good news, some not so good.
Playing third line - I'm thinking 50 points. Oh, wait! I was thinking of Brassard....I meant Kadri....no, Tyler Johnson.....Reset - CBJ 3rd line center. Yep 31-34 sounds about right.
And here I was thinking we'd have to settle for a one-year deal with an older guy. I like this signing a lot.
