When I first saw it it took me a while to believe it was real because it was one of the most unfunny pieces of crap I've ever seen.

It was originally a pure back to the future parody and spawned into this, interesting to see the massive changes

That's not the pilot. That's a distinct and different project, designed specifically to annoy Universal Studios. Roiland reused the character designs for Rick and Morty, but do not mistake that for the pilot of Rick and Morty.

The pilot (ep1) of Rick and Morty is hilarious.

Geez, you weren't kidding. The death ray scene at the end was pretty gutwrenching for a cartoon.

I love how Jerry and Beth argue over everything, usually involving the threat of divorce. The writers rally nailed the absurdity of selfishness in marriage.
