By this point the stats are: Auston Matthews with 88 points in 98 games, and Patrik Laine with 73 in 87. Last year they finished 1-2 in calder voting, of course Matthews was the winner. While both players are obviously super talented and are going to be elite for a long time, do you think it was a mistake for Winnipeg to draft Laine over Matthews? Or do you believe that the first (almost) 100 games were just a fluke? Personally I believe that Winnipeg should have taken good Canadian boy Pierre-Luc Dubois first overall (just look at the impact he is making this year in Columbus). So now I'm curious to know what you guys think, please leave your comments below (and if you disagree with me then I will turn the site off).

Winnipeg drafted 2nd, and got the best player available, your post is confusing at best. Please at a minimum research your topic before posting.

He made a mistake people, get over it.

Matthews was drafted 1st overall. Everyone is fine with who they drafted.

Op is right Dubois is a beauty

That CBJ GM Cargo Yemolakainen knows what he’s doing, and didn’t draft his son Patrick Laine at 3, smart choice
