Shame Kapanen was so unproductive this playoffs compared to the level he'd been playing at around then. Might have even given us a chance against the Wings since it was fairly close at many points in spite of them being the much better team.

One of the things that made me appreciate Hockey. These dudes just get back up and keep playing like nothing happened.

I know O'Neill gets a lot of hate here but the guy was a warrior for us at times.

It's easy for me to forget how different the game is because change happens slowly over time. But watching that game....the physicality and shit that never got called was crazy.

Still can't believe they didn't call the egregious hook on Cole.

Gary Roberts would spent his entire career in the box in today's NHL.

The low quality of 1990s and 2000s replays is a total mystery to me. Games that I can remember looking crystal-clear in the original broadcast are almost unwatchable now, including games from the HD era.

There must be some technical reason, but you'd think it wouldn't be that hard to convert them for the purpose of a TV re-broadcast.

The technical reason is the original resolution they were shot at. You can't create resolution that doesn't exist.

But the resolution in the 2006 re-broadcast was worse than what it was originally shot at. There was all sorts of pixelation that didn't exist in the original broadcast, and instead of re-broadcasting the widescreen version (which is pretty much every TV in existence now) they went with a standard box.

Seems to happen a lot, which is understandable on YT but weird on an actual TV broadcast.
