Kenny Roche is a favorite of mine that I felt would move himself into the top 20 this season. He started very slowly, but has been scoring points of late.

Bahensky and Psurny seem to have made adjustments to the WHL, if anyone has seen them play I'd appreciate comments. Dubinsky appears to have rebounded from a slow start.

Players drafted by the Oilers will always be considered either a bust or overrated. Prior to the draft, posters said that Schremp would be a top 10 pick. The minute the Oilers drafted Schremp, he suddenly became a) a bust and b) overrated.

I think that no matter what team drafted Schremp this situation would have occured. At the time of the draft when Schremp was falling down the board almost everyone wanted their team to select him, the fact that they didn't seems to have angered some and made their negative judgments on him stem from this event.

1. Peter Sejna, LW Would have been w/ the Blues this year

2. Marek Schwarz, G Having a tough time adjusting to the small rink - but way too early to judge

3. Alexei Shkotov, RW Continues to show that he can play in the AHL

4. Jay McClement, C Having a good season and contributing in the O end.

5. Carl Soderberg, C Has gotten a lot of playing time in the past International Tournament that SWE won. Not as productive in the SEL but is kicking butt in the 2nd tier where he gets top line playing time.

6. Konstantin Zakharov, LW Dropped a little due mostly to lack of playing time, one of the few 19 year olds playing in the AHL - Finally got his 1st 2 goals

7. Konstantin Barulin, G

8. Trevor Byrne, D Top pairing D man for the Ice cats - physical play

9. Dennis Wideman - Moved Up w/ his consistant play in the AHL. Becoming a great QB - Rookie of the month.

10. David Backes, C - Having a solid season in College

11. Viktor Alexandrov, RW

12. Zack FitzGerald, D

13. Jon DiSalvatore, RW Having a decent year w/ the Cats

14. Mike Glumac, RW Left off the original top 20, but another guy who would be getting a serious look in St. Louis

15. Robin Jonsson, D Playing in the SEL

16. Juha-Matti Aaltonen, LW

17. Alexandre Bolduc C

18. Roman Polak, D Adjusting very well to the style of the NA game. 11 Points so far for a D man who is getting used to NA.

19. Michal Birner, C

20. Lee Stepniak, RW

OUT are 'Cash, Hemmingway who isn't getting the time in the AHL and is now out w/ groin injury,

IN Glumac and Stepniak.

I put Schremp over JDD primarly because the Oilers are weakest at the Center position and need that offensive player. Markkanen and Conklin can hold the fort for a few years if need be.

1. Schremp
2. JDD
3. Woywitka
4. Pouliot
5. Lynch
6. Dubnyk
7. Greene
8. Niinimaki
9. Salmelainen

1) Technically speaking Glumac isn't a prospect. He can't be on the list. Instead, I would put David Fredriksson on the list.

2) All things considered, I would put Shkotov and McClement above Schwarz. I understand that he's been severely overworked, but Shkotov and McClement have been very good so far.

3) IMO you should swap Wideman and Disalvatore.

I thought we signed Glumac in the offseason. OR is it the age thing...

I like the chances of Heino Lindberg, Lapierre, Korpikari and Danis... Urquhart could become something great or simply bust... I never saw Grabovski play but magement is very high on him... I lost faith in Hainsey, I just cant see Locke becoming a good player to have on a good team...

The Ice Cat's signed Glumac, the Blues did not. We supposedly(Hadley rumor so take how you want) had a 2-way deal ready for him but it was dependant on his Training camp performance for the Blues(and since there WAS no Blues training camp he never got the deal).

As for his age, he's 24 so he'd be cutting it very close on those lines. I think he'd still be considered a prospect, but he simply isn't Blues property.

You have this incredible ability to be selective. It's an incredible skill you have there.

I am just going by what I read. Most of the publications have said the following about Schremp:

Skating needs to improve
Doesn't have that top gear
Poor defensively

In London. And do you honestly think it was because he didn't have enough skill to play on that team?

I think that because of the attributes you listed here, Robbie probably didn't belong on team USA last year and wouldn't have made the team any better. I also think these attributes make him a 9E or 8C. He could become a superstar, but the odds of that are pretty rough. He could become a 70-80 point first line center but IMO even that is fairly unlikely.

Many of his shortcomings have been improved upon, and your kidding yourself if you think other top prospects aren't missing key things in their games at the moment. The guy still has a few years, like many others to improve his overall game.
