Hamilton had the rights to Kapernick until they decided to go for Johnny Football. Montreal picked up Kap's right and even reached out to him for an offer.

He never responded to them.

Obviously he doesn't truly care to play football.

Its certainly not the NFL, but its still football. Play there and show teams you still have it and that you wont be a distraction.

Did rights expire or did they have some limit on how many out of work NFL QB"s they are allowed to have rights to?

I mean even if Kap came out and said "I will never go to CFL" a team should still hold onto his rights over Johnny ####### Manziel

It worked for Warren Moon. Kaepernick is still young. He could really reignite his career in the CFL.

Yes, because not wanting to play in an inferior league when he's good enough to play in the better league shows he doesn't want to play...

well he is clearly not on anyone's radar to pick up and sign at the moment. If it doesn't change by next season it would be pretty interesting to see what he could do in an "inferior" league.

If Flacco is down and out for a few weeks maybe the Ravens will reach out to him again if they aren't still upset with his gf's tweet when they spoke of being interested in him earlier in the season.

I really really want to work in hockey ops. The NHL didn't hire me/doesn't want me. The AHL [inferior league] offers me the same job - am I going to say no?

My point is, if he really wants to play football - it doesn't look like the NFL will sign him - then play in the CFL. If money is no issue, go there and show teams you are still good at football and wont be a distraction.

I doubt it, she went overboard with the whole slave master thing. She insulted the owner and the franchises most notable player - who was advocating for Kap.

It worked for Warren Moon. Kaepernick is still young. He could really reignite his career in the CFL.

The difference was that Moon went drafted by the NFL. The league was still gunshy about having a black QB and playing to kind of offense he had at UW. Houston took a gamble on signing him (and bringing Hugh Campbell over as coach). He also didn't have the baggage of off field issues.

Kapernick still has the baggage issues that could derail him in the CFL. He's gonna have to leave that behind if he were to sign.

At this point in the season, does anyone really think Kaepernick is going to come in and save some team's season in Week 9? He really hasn't even been that good since 2013. What do people honestly expect out of him?

LOL @ the CFL suggestion. Not worth the injury risk.

Likewise its not worth it for an NFL team to sign him because of his media circus.

If Kap really wanted to play, he'd suck it up and play in the CFL instead of trying to prove imaginary collusion.

Ryan Lindley swallowed his pride and came up to Canada this year. Weird that he hasn't sued the NFL for collusion.

Kap is probably still good enough to be a third stringer somewhere, but like Tebow before him, isn't worth the media circus that followed/will follow him around. He should sue ESPN and the like, they're the real reason he can't land a job right now.

Ryan Lindley having success in CFL just shows how amateur it is compared to NFL and why Kaep or anyone else with hopes to play in NFL should simply wait for NFL teams to call

Ryan Lindley is probably the worst QB in the entire CFL this year. He was absolutely embarrassing even for a #3 QB.

Lots of players (20-40 a year) jump from CFL to NFL. It is a legitimate strategy for those that slip through the cracks and better option than hoping some team will call based on years old tape from college

Agree that it's pointless for Kaepernick though. Showing skill level isn't what is needed for him, everyone knows his skill level. For big name prominent players with extensive NFL resumes the CFL is not generally a good strategy to get back in NFL.

He made a choice to make a statement by being the 1st to take a knee and bring attention to himself/his cause but he should also sue for it??? Didn't he want coverage for his cause?

The fact is none of these teams want a media circus for what he potentially brings to the table.

Looks like 7 of the owners texts and phone calls are going to be looked at. Would be very interesting if they find anything.

He's not suing because of the cause, he's suing because he thinks owners are colluding to keep him out of the league.

Apparently Jerry Jones, McNair, York and 4 other owners are going to be deposed.
