You definitely mean Maine. And, yes
Maybe, but the other two are full of those kinds as well. Try going up around the upper CT River area. Both states have a lot of "Aaaaayup. Hawd tellin' knot knowin' an' all". "Gotta get up purty early in the mawnin' if ya' wanna get the biggah ones". Quotes from fishing lake Morey, VT last summer. I mean "summah".

Who would you rather take a lineup spot for 30 games this season? Jimmy Hayes or Jay Pandolfo?

I am having a hard time deciding.
Well, Jimmy would bring a lot of toughness while Pandolfo would, from the looks of him, add a lot of intelligence. Tough call because they're both so great.

The "hype" of Jimmy Hayes joining the Bruins reminds me of when I was reading "just wait until he crushes Lucic into the boards" on the Habs board after they signed Hal Gill.

Just so much assumption and so little truth.

Commonwealth Avenue Classic brings out a star-studded group...

If it were up to Pat Mullane, his Boston College five for a go-ahead goal in Friday’s Commonwealth Avenue Classic would be Kevin Hayes, Chris Kreider, and Brian Gibbons up front, with Brian Dumoulin and Mike Mottau running the blue line.

Mullane, Boston College Class of 2012, believes his Boston University rivals would counter with Jack Eichel between Clayton Keller and Charlie Coyle, while Brian Strait and Charlie McAvoy would complete their five-man unit.

Six of the 10 skaters in Mullane’s scenario were first-round NHL picks. It would not be a shabby collection of skill.

“It says a lot about both schools and the kind of talent they’re pushing out,” said Mullane, who scored 42 goals and 97 assists over his four-year BC career. “But more important to us is what the rosters say about how loyal and generous these guys are, giving up a Friday night in the middle of the summer to essentially do their job.”

Mullane is the co-founder of the tournament, which is entering its fourth iteration. The game between the perpetual enemies will take place at BU’s Walter Brown Arena, with proceeds benefiting Compassionate Care ALS, the Pete Frates Home Health Initiative, and the Travis Roy Foundation. The game, featuring roughly 20 current NHLers, will be played in honor of Frates, Roy, and former BC assistant athletic director Dick Kelley.

Shinzawa: Charity game allows happy memories to flow again...

Ex-Boston University Terriers Matt Grzlecyk and Charlie McAvoy never played college hockey at Walter Brown Arena. They took their shifts down Commonwealth Avenue at Agganis Arena, the newer but more detached replacement for Boston University’s longtime home.

On Friday, during the fourth annual Commonwealth Avenue Classic, the two Bruins, along with honorary Terrier Ryan Donato, felt what Jay Pandolfo experienced for four years: a rink at Walter Brown that welcomed its full-time occupants and rattled its temporary visitors.

“Brings back a lot of good memories,” said Pandolfo, the 43-year-old Bruins assistant coach of participating in a 10-5 BU win over BC in a charity game. “We had a lot of success in this building. I love the atmosphere here still. It’s loud. It’s fun. It brings back a lot of good memories.”

The rink did not reach its capacity of 3,806. But enough visitors attended to raise $78,432 for the Compassionate Care ALS, the Pete Frates Home Health Initiative, and the Travis Roy Foundation. It was the most raised in the game’s history

Jack Eichel scored twice. Donato, playing alongside fellow ex-Harvard player Jimmy Vesey and Northeastern’s Adam Gaudette, recorded a natural hat trick in the first period.

On the Boston College side, 40-year-old Mike Mottau did not look out of place manning the same blue line as 21-year-old Noah Hanifin. Jimmy and Kevin Hayes shared shifts while their dad watched from Section 8.

Roy, stricken on his first BU shift in 1995, watched the game from near the spot where he tumbled headfirst into the boards.
