I think Germany takes it. It appears to me their program is actually making some progress, the Czechs have been going backwards for years at this tournament and it's only a matter of time before they get relegated for a year.

Is it confirmed that german ref is in this game?

That'd be stupid.
He'd probably be harder on Germany in order to not appear biased...

Also not so sure that Germany getting better is just a myth at his point.

Czech's are getting underrated imo. The 7-2 score against Canada flattered the Canadians and the same could pretty much be said for the 6-3 game against the Swedes. I expect them to take this one, they just need to stay out of the box and get decent goaltending.

What have you seen so far that makes either of those seem likely?

I'm hoping for the Germans. It would be nice to see them survive relegation because they've taken a serious step forward as a hockey nation and deserve to be rewarded for it.

The Danes and Germans are making very impressive strides in developing their hockey talent and infrastructure and it would be nice to have both of them in next year's tournament.

Man, if the germans can get at least an OT Point, they will really cloud up the situation regarding who gets bumped along with Norway.

I believe if they only got 1 point, they'd still get relegated.

Svk 5 +6
Cze 5 +3
Ger 2 -2
Nor 0 -7

Even if we assumed they'd beat Norway in regulation, they'd end up tied with a regulation loser of Svk/Cze and be out based on head-to-head.

They need to get at least 2 points out of this game and hope for a Slovakia regulation win.

hoping germany can pull this out to make the final games interesting.

having 3 non-big8 countries in the wjc next year would be huge for the development of hockey worldwide.

Agreed. Plus, this Czech team has annoyed me all tournament with their lack of discipline and just boneheaded plays (Frk spear/hook-to-balls/whatever you want to call it, the goalie slash vs Foligno, dumb penalties all game against Sweden) while the German team has played pretty well outside of a bad first period versus the Swiss.
