TopShelfYzerman
Gm 7 Double OT
Just where he should be . Im not expecting huge changes just some steps in the right direction. Welcome home!
I predict he will fail here...just like he failed to get Tampa over the hump.
Gonna be alot of work
nah Brisebois made him look good. kids a math genius and a he'll of a talent scouter.I'm still not convinced he's as great of a GM as Tampa made him look (taxes, draft luck), I hope I'm wrong.
Hedman and Stamkos weren't even drafted by him. As far as I can remember, Drouin was his only to 5 pickWhat ia draft luck?
Stamkos? Hedman?
Pulling later round gems like his staff did consistently is more skill then luck.
The thing is MI doesn't have the same tax situation as FL-which enabled those lower contracts.
Who? Where? What????lol TB and their fans now accusing Yzerman of being a terrible GM / drafter / he’s overrated. I gotta get my broom out to sweep my floor this morning
What a week for TB.
Going from doormat to a team positioned to challenge for Cups over a 5+ year span is a pretty strong accomplishment for a GM. GMs can only assemble teams and coaches to be in a position to be successful. Actually winning is on the guys on the ice and in the dressing room (and to some extent luck with injuries, hot streaks, etc).Yzerman became TB's GM in 2010 and almost a decade later no cup...what a great GM, only on HFBoards; just like a 4th rounder is more valuable than a legit NHL player on here, lol
Congrats. Yzerman is back where he should be. Happy for Wings fans.
The Tampa Bay organization owes him a lot for all that he's done for us.
Haha is this guy serious? Like netting a few extra mill and living in the tropics isn’t an advantage in recruiting and retaining players. What does this have to do with building a hockey team exactly?
Lol typical Hf boards. Not what I said but keep er going bud.Weather and taxes affects the quality of drafting made by a team somehow?
I was not aware of this.

Cant believe people still cling on to this.See how well he does without the nice weather and tax advantages.

Can’t believe people still can’t seem to understand what reality is.Cant believe people still cling on to this.
Please explain why the Panthers are not in a similar situation? Its a bad and unsubstantiated claim. The thing is MI doesn't have the same tax situation as FL-which enabled those lower contracts.
Panters are in Florid. What is the difference between them and Lightning? Can’t believe people still can’t seem to understand what reality is.
True, Detroit has never been able to sign players to cap-friendly deals in their history.See how well he does without the nice weather and tax advantages.

Finally someone with common sense "he's so good with contracts 111!!!!" while ignoring the huge tax break they have over other teams lol
