Initial feeling is that Mantha goes in top10 in our system, Nastasiuk and Janmark-Nylén somewhere 12-20.

Very curious to see where Janmark-Nylen goes in our prospect rankings. He is actually pretty close to ready being an older guy. I really liked that pick.

Not quite sure myself. On the one hand his 20 yo stats aren't far behind Jarnkrok's. On the other hand he has no track record to speak of.

People thought a guy like Viktor Arvidsson had a great season and he totalled 12 points along with a good playoffs. Janmark is only four months older than him. William Karlsson was the SHL ROTY, #1 WJC center with 28 points, Janmark is one month older than him and had 31 points. So he compares great, but has no junior resume to speak of like those other guys.

I have to say, I really like the looks of this chart. Our size is so much improved over the past few years and many of our skilled players are larger than in times past. The cupboard is looking pretty full at the moment.

Might as well post all of those RWC tweets they just put out:

"A couple more prospect notes: The #RedWings keep Philippe Hudon's rights through 2015 because he moved from college to junior in 2011."

"Hudon will return to Victoriaville of the QMJHL as an over-ager next season. Bit of a long-shot, but with more time, who knows."

"The #RedWings won't qualify Thomas McCollum, making him a UFA. First sign of trouble was his implosion at 2009 WJC for Team USA."

"And Hat Trick Dick (Axelsson) ... The #RedWings have his rights for another year. Hakan Andersson will keep an eye on him this season ..."

"... A tremendous talent who doesn't always show up. Apparently he's got a head coach (Roger Ronnberg) eager to turn him into an NHL player."

"There may be some significant changes coming in the #RedWings scouting staff as well. Stay tuned."

As long as the scouting change has nothing to do with HÃ¥kan...

My thought as well. Just speculation of course.

It just wasn't a "red wing draft"... where are the Frk's, Jurco's, Tvrdon's, pulkkinens, Järnkrok etc from the 2013 draft?

Fine if they did this one draft where they went with hard-nosed big canadians, but is that just a 1-year thing or will they continue with this next draft?

Hakan Andersson will keep an eye on him (Dick Axelsson) would suggest it isn't him. But cannot imagine what can be deemed significant not involving him. Guess that is a matter of opinion, maybe a Draper or Maltby is getting a bigger role. Maltby deals primarily with pro scouting, so maybe they are shifting him down to the amateur level or something.

If Nill wanted to bring somebody and they had already discussed their internal board, they likely wouldn't release him until today.
