That seems a bit odd since Conacher would have the 3rd best scoring pace of all the 2008 draftees if he had been picked that year.

Why would you demand Conacher gets included in the first round? I think it's more interesting to see where people naturally would place him in a draft revision, and the arguments they'd use to support his placement.

my opinion, dude. they still have untapped potential in my opinion. i don't think they will be good enough to jump sandin though. cuma could be the best player to come out of that draft though. i remember a great sports writer that actually has the best sunday (or was it saturday?) column in the world said he'd be better than erik karlsson. they're both young, so it could happen. karlsson is also small.

Don't forget injury prone. Didn't Karlsson also miss a few games to end the 2010/2011 with a skate cut to the calf? I am seeing a pattern here....

good thing we traded up to 15th and drafted the much less injury prone cuma and hired that newsman to be our gm after firing murray that year.

GM Don Brennan is the man. I saw that phony ex-GM Bryan Murray trying to jump into GMDB's Conacher interview yesterday on TSN. It was down right pathetic. Glad to pick up a good ol' Canadian boy like Cuma. Those types tend to really show up in the post-season unlike those soft Europeans.

I remember Don Brennan writing an article last year when we made the playoffs, talking about how he predicted the sens would make the playoffs had young guys stepped up, Maclean proved to be a godo coach and the veterans bounced back (thanks tips, wouldn't have guessed that).

It was basically an article that he was trying to say "Look how awesome I am! I know so much about hockey!"

I just wish I could have went to up and handed him the articles on Hossa/Karlsson being horrible picks, and how we could have had Zultek over Hossa.
