He was once a Leaf draft pick. Property assumes you had ownership. They had rights to trade him, nothing more without that contract. If they don't trade him and he doesn't sign, they lose even those rights.

Alright, then change the Op to reflect players that were never even in TO or ever were signed to contracts by us, or played a single game in Blue and White because you have Ex-Leaf players and he never was.
