Out of all the top RFAs, including Point, Marner, Aho, Rantanen,Tkachuk, Meier, Boeser, McAvoy, Trouba, Conner, Laine, Werenski, Provorov, etc.

How would you rank them and what annual average salary do you think they can get on a 6 year term deal?

I know.

His (#6) versatility.. which is low..
His speed... which is low..
His health so far.. has been less than adequate...
It factors in..

You have to take Nylander’s post-signing performance outta the equation...

I am not sure what does speed have to do with this. Goals/points/ppg are the main factors in getting a big contract

Nylander two 61 points in a full season

Boeser 55 P on 63 games and 56 P in 69 games. Boeser goals and ppg pace is higher than Nylander.

Boeser is going to get 7.5 to 8 M

The deals likely have less to do with the players abilities and more so what they personally value and how competent each teams GM is. They will clearly be using each other as comps but as we have already seen, some bad GMs pay guys like Hayes 7x7 and good ones get wild Bill for 5.9

Marner $9.5
Aho $9.0
Rantanen $8.0
Trouba $8.0
Laine $7.8
Tkachuk $7.7
Boeser $6.8
Meier $6.8

How are ya doing with your predictions...

Marner $9.5.....
Aho $9.0..... $8.5 x 5
Rantanen $8.0
Trouba $8.0.... $8 mil x 7 Correct!
Laine $7.8
Tkachuk $7.7
Boeser $6.8
Meier $6.8... $6 mil x 4.. took a discount to defer payday (QO will be $10mil)

If i were to modify.. I would maybe add a mil to Marner.

Edit: I just scrolled up to see there was maybe one other person guessing... I guess its turned into me bumping this to pat myself on the back for getting Trouba money right.

If Rantanen took $8 million, the Avs will go after another one of the RFAs too.

Meier, his rfa years would equa $6.8 per if he just does his QO. So pretty good.

Aho, time value of money closes the gap. He asked for $9.5 per but likely would have settled for $9 but he wanted the 5 year term.

Trouba I figured he’d get that as well.

The rest, I’m assuming they sign just 1 ufa year so either 5-6 years depending on their situation.

Brock Boeser and Connor I would peg both around $7-$7.50 if they go 6 years to buy 1 ufa year.

Rantanen I would peg at $9.5 mill.
Tkachuk I would peg at $8.25 Mill.
Marner, $10-$10.5

Laine is the hardest one. Inconsistent so not sure I’d do term with him but after having to move Trouba who bridged might be better to just do term rather than risk him not wanting to sign for term after the bridge. Think $9 mill for him for 5 years.

lol if the Avs can get Rantanen to sign for 8M, we will be set for years and guaranteed enough cap space to build a dinasty. Not sure if Sakic will point a gun at him in order to get this done though, he seems like a good lad.

Funny how all here agree Trouba gets $8 million a year for long term contract then as soon as he signs for it it's too much.

We'll see... if he does, it's probably due to the cap room Col has.

He should, but he won’t.

Marner’s got a lot more media buzz and his dad makes sure there’s always smoke and mirrors. It’s Toronto, after all. People have to get overpaid and overrated.

——

Rantanen past 2 seasons:

171 points in 155 games (1.11 PPG)

Marner past 2 seasons:

163 points in 164 games (0.99 PPG)

——

Of course, Rantanen is also 5 inches and 45 pounds bigger than Marner.

Rantanen is the superior player, bigger frame, more impact on a game, etc. but plays in Denver.

Marner plays in Toronto.

Marner will get more money.
