Whats your prediction on when each of these guys will make it into the NHL

2004-2005

Here is my guess...

1.) Tukonen slight chance of making it 2004-2005 ... realistic 2005-2006
2.) Schremp slight chance of making it 2004-2005 ... realistic 2005-2006
3.) Barker 2005-2006
4.) Olesz 2005-2006
5.) Montoya 2006-2007
6.) Shwartz 2006-2007

Barker is probably the biggest possibility for the next season (if no lock-out), followed by Schremp, Tukonen, Oleg, and then the goalies.

I think Barker is the most mature player in your list

There were only 3 guys considered by pretty much every scouting source to be NHL ready. They were Ovenchicken, Malkin, and Barker. The first two wont be able to come over next year because of transfer fees and its already been decided that Barker will spend another year in the WHL. The rest are atleast 2 years away.

Dont be surprised if Montoya battles Blackburn for the job next season. I dont agree with it but thats whats expected in some corners.

montoya has already commited to goin back to school for another year, so '05-'06 is the soonest he'll be battling Blackburn for anything.

I could see Ovechkin and Barker playing next year but that's about it for the 1st rounders, barring major camp surprises. The transfer fee for Ovechkin shouldn't be as much of a problem as it might be for Malkin. Isn't he signed for another 3-4 years in the RSL? It will come down to money of course, but he could be more expensive than AO for that reason alone.
