He was never a "40ish" point guy. Hes been our best 5 on 5 offensive player for 3-4 years, yes better than Giroux and voracek. He's a guy who paced in the 50s back to back years who played the heaviest defensive minutes with scrub players.

Since playing with quality players on the 1st line he's put up these numbers:

Games played:99
Goals:38
Assist:49
Points:87

Equates to 32 Goals, 41 Assist and 73 points. Couturier had a limited training camp and no pre season and came in rusty, finally getting his legs. Hes a 70+ point selke contending 1C, the best player in this grouping

I agree his numbers underrated him offensively due to how he was used and his linemates, but 40ish point guy isn't that inaccurate in terms of what he produced. His per 82 game paces prior to last year were: 39, 37, 51, 42. He didn't pace for 50 in back to back years.

Couturier has had one season with 40+ points. He might be the most overrated player on HF after last season.

Yeah but hes now on his second really good year. You gotta start pushing him up towards the top.

Karlsson may jot be repeating his year from last but i think hes doing well and a little too low on many lists too.

My analysis based on the stats (and perhaps flames bias)
- First off great OP based on the numbers, all very comparable players on stats and pedigree (1b-2a centers)
- Ryjo is a poor mans Joe Thornton (little goals, big assists)
- Seems like Stepan does not belong for the wrong reasons - numbers don't stack up
- Seems like Monahan does not belong for the right reasons - numbers do stack up too high, not saying he's better (although outside of ORielly I do believe that), but because of his utilization. He is not play a shut down role like many of these guys do, instead he used in purely offensive situations with his partner in crime (Gaudreau) which I believe inflates both of their stats (pure shooter & unreal playmaker). I understand that not all players have the luxury of playing Gaudreau but others get to play between Giroux/Voracheck or Forsberg/Arvidsson or Tarasenko etc.
- Therefore players like Zabinijad and Kadri who play with scubs alot of the time should probably be ranked a little higher than many have them (hurts me to pump up a Leafs player)
