1) Ghost- hope his gamechanging capabilities will come back
2) Provy- Amazing player with a down year
3) Sanheim- so much potential to be a perennial game changer
4) Gudas- very effective when smart
5) Hagg- he is serviceable as a bottom pairing.
Incomplete (not enough info)- Morin, Myers, Shlemko
Also, he would not score very well (if at all), but if Shlemko is in the poll, Andy should have been there as well

With Provy's contract talks hitting a wall I hope Fletcher doesn't trade him like he traded Brett Burns @ Minnesota .

What a grave mistake that will turn out to be, watching him "mature" for another team :(

Of course they hit a wall. People we’re talking Ekblad type of numbers after an unsustainable season last year.

I don’t think there should be much of a fear of the Flyers ultimately trading Provorov though. He’s still an RFA with 4 more years of control until he’s eligible to be a UFA.

How dare people talk about the good and bad of a player in a thread where you're comparing players...

If you mention a single bad thing about Provorov you're a Ghost fan boi.
If you mention a single bad thing about Ghost you're being objective.

Bonus points for calling him a #4, when that's factually incorrect by any standard.

D-man historically are known to not become in their prime until later in their careers. The Provorov or Gostisbehere thing needs to stop. All the Gostisbehere fans feel like they have to knock Provorov in order to make "their" guy stand out. Provorov has the bigger upside and is skating a ton of minutes at a young age. Gostisbehere will never be that kind of d-man. Gostisbehere is skating #4 dman minutes and will continue to do that. He is a good PP d-man. Nothing wrong with that. Its weird...... you guys ripped people for saying that Couturier at 22 will never be a Selke candidate but its ok to say that Provorov at 22 does not have any more growth left???!?!? That's where your analysis in this area fall on deaf ears....its driven by fan boi love. I will admit and love that I was wrong about Couturier. You guys will never say that Provorov is good. Confirmation biasness at its best. I like both Provorov and Gostisbehere. But I am tired of hearing all the 'Ghost" fans being so protective of him that they have rip another Flyer unwarranted. You can fawn love on him and say that he is elite etc. (even though most Hockey people will disagree) but stop ripping Provorov in your Gostisbehere analysis. When Provorov sucks; say he sucks. Same with Gostisbehere.
Why is Provorov better than Gostisbehere?

And mix in a paragraph this time.

Purely on where we are going and not where we are. Because that’s nowhere right now.

Provy—he is going to be a number one. Just needs to get his head straight. This year he gets a mulligan

Sanheim—he has everything ghost has from the shoulders up but has the size and the wheels

Ghost—a dynamo, but I think injury has somewhat slowed him and impacted his willingness to be as aggressive

Myers—we need him to be here, so here he is. All the tools for the toolbox, just see what he can do with them.

Everyone is voting for Myers based on what we want him to be. I must admit watching him wheelin' in LV is impressive but really we can't give him a rank until he has some NHL time.

What have you done for me lately?

1. Sanheim
2.Gudas
3.Prov
4.Ghost/Hagg

Provorov plays the toughest minutes and a lot of them and still contributes at a high level offensively 5x5.
It is much easier to find a PP specialist than a #1 D-man who can eat 25 minutes a night.
Since the Allstar break we've gotten a glimpse of the player Provorov may become when he grows up, i.e. Doughty lite.

And for those of you keeping track at home, that PP specialist is Ghost. You know, the guy who is 36th in ES points by a dman since he entered the league.

Don’t forget that points are bad and PP points are even worse.

Scoring means nothing in hockey. You don’t win games with goals, you win with bench presses and board work.
