Interesting that Henrik’s assist total is 14 higher than the next on the list. I disagree about “filler” as injuries are a part of the game. Do we discount a team winning a cup cause the other team was injured?

I remember all those seasons... I think they were all unique. Hard to rank as they all had moments.

Not to mention Henrik did so without his brother for a good period of time, and was beasting at ES and on the PP.

He had Burrows and Kevin f***ing Bieksa (yes you heard it right) on his wings at one point in addition to third tier wingers. Extremely impressive.

Sedin, Perry and Ovechkin's line the bottom of the list...they were just fillers for players that got hurt and deserved it more. Which isn't to say that they themselves don't deserve it, but those are circumstantial Harts and, thus, probably hold a lower impact value...

wut? Sedin won the Hart and Art Ross that year and deserved it more than anyone else that year. His brother missed like 20 games and he played with Burrows and Bieksa on his line for parts of the season. Ovi had Backstrom, Semin and Green who were established superstars already. This was before Kesler and Burrows became stars.

Based on the quality of their performance the year they won, or based on how good/valuable they are overall as players?

That.

Because it would help to place Price.

Based on the season alone where he was nominated, he would be very high, but based on how they are talented overall, he would be in the middle of the pack/a bit lower.

I think people are underestimating Price's value to Montreal. Without Price they're a lottery team as they proved last season. When he's on he pushes the Habs into the playoffs with arguably the worst roster to make the playoffs in years. I'm a Pens fan but I would say Price's accomplishment is far more impressive than Sid's or Geno's MVP's.

2013's Ovechkin win is the weakest in NHL history.

Should've gone to Crosby. Misses the last month, and still had the same amount of Points as Ovi.

Crosby if he won the Hart that year, that would've been the most dominant win of the decade.

His 1.56 PPG was .30 above the next closest.

Sedin's Hart year was incredible. To suggest he was just "filler" is asinine. I would put him up there with Malkin.
